Often hailed as "pop culture’s most irreverent designer” Jeremey Scott has dressed many of the pop culture icons of our times. His rise in the fashion world has been legendary as one of the firsts to mix street wear with luxury, Jeremy Scott established his own versatile style from the beginning. It's depths lying in his deconstructed dressing during his time at the Pratt Institute in the 90s, to his first show in Paris in 1997. By his second collection he was on his way to becoming one of our times most revered fashion icons and designers. Known for his references to pop culture and his ability to draw illustrious details and references in his designs he has furthered fashion as creative director of Moschino. Having worked with celebrities such as Bjork, Katy Perry, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Kanye West among others.
His work with Moschino has created a new platform for fans of the Italian brand. Not only have Moschino sales advantaged under Jeremy Scott but the entire aesthetic of the brand has been altered. Scott, being one of the first to mix high fashion with street wear holds true to that concept. Varying greatly from Moschino’s spring 2018 collection, exhibiting a resilience that was purely American. Inspired by the idea of a road trip from LA to Las Vegas. About the collection he said “I was thinking hot rods and dusty roads from L.A. to Las Vegas and that Route 66 life, like the boneyards with all the old neon signs and pin-up girls and Playboy bunnies and these archetypes of Americana.” “I’m feeling a little nostalgic about America. Is our America being lost by some psychopath?”
Jeremy Scott’s future work will be awaited with anticipation. Preparing for Moschino’s first makes launch with Sephora, the collection will be a glamorous addition to Jeremy Scott’s work. Set to launch o Friday August 11th the collection will feature Moschino teddy bears with an array of beauty products. The collar is to be one of a kind in true Moschino style.
