Simon Porte Jacquemus, an emerging, self taught designer was the key highlight of Paris Fashion week. His ability to merge the locale, untamed, beauty of French culture and the nonchalance attitude of the beach lifestyle was exquisite. Raised in the south of France, Jacquemus takes inspiration from the aesthetic nature of the region. Not to mention his continuous inspiration is his late mother. He commented about his latest collection saying that “I was looking at a photograph of my mother walking through the port one summer,” he explained. “She had a scarf around her head, and these ceramic earrings—and a pareo tied around her. She was always smiling and happy. People still stop me in the village and say, ‘Your mother? She was so beautiful!’ His Spring 2018 collection entitled "La Bomba" showed at Paris Fashion Week.

Draped fabric in light materials, flowy dresses, plunging necklines and backless tops were accentuated in the collection. Jacquemus rise within the fashion world has been due to his perfect understanding of aesthetics and how to perfectly embody an idea or feeling into an article of clothing. He mentions how in this collection he was trying to translate this image in his mind and was “going away from the stiff fabrics, to work on the flou, the draping..." He has gained popularity with many famous celebrities and models like Emily Ratajkowski, favouring his fresh and bold looks through Paris Fashion Week.

His look has simplicity defined by classic elegance with a hint of natural beauty that is caught immediately in his clothes and accessories.
